Right in the middle of several housing estates and covering an area of over 22 hectares, Lings Wood is a local nature reserve in the eastern district of Northampton. Woodland areas range from plantations of mature sweet chestnut, douglas fir and larch to areas which are returning to more native woodland with naturally regenerating birch, rowan, oak and holly. The area also includes scrub, ponds and acid grassland providing a habitat for numerous species.
There are various well formed paths weaving throught he woods to enable visitors to enjoy its many features.
